As with all things, the key to success is practise, practise, practise. So when the opportunity to take part in a trouser pattern cutting class which was held in my home town came up I jumped at the chance. I came trundling home, cat in tow, she did very well by the way, and spent a wonderful two days immersed in mathematical equations, paper, set squares, french curves, tape measures and sharp pencils. I was attuned to the insights of the tutor and welcomed the opportunity to look through the books she was using. And the best part, being able to relax and study and absorb, luxuries that are sometimes lost in the hurly burly of uni life.
It was worth it, I just have to draw up a pair for me now, which might be the ultimate challenge…
